T-Shirts With Purpose

Updated: Apr 1

Hello ladies and gents! If you're new to my blog, you've come on such a FUN day– I have some exciting news! Yesterday, I began a "Be Your Own Beautiful" T-Shirt Campaign to advocate for mental health destigmatization and resource implementation into Georgia Public Schools, as well as raise money for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).

I thought a t-shirt would be a fun addition to the social impact initiatives I've been working on recently... PLUS the message is raw & the shirts are SUPER CUTE!

NAMI has been such a large part of my own mental health journey, from trying to understand the things I'm dealing with to searching for resources, and the work they do across the country is incredibly life changing. If you are unfamiliar with the organization, NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. They help those in need in four key ways: Educate, Advocate, Listen, and Lead.

They educate: Offered in thousands of communities across the United States through NAMI State Organizations (like NAMI GA) and NAMI Affiliates, their education programs ensure hundreds of thousands of families, individuals and educators get the support and information they need.

They advocate: NAMI shapes national public policy for people with mental illness and their families, and provides leaders with the tools, resources, and skills necessary to promote positive mental health in all states.

They listen: Their toll-free NAMI HelpLine provides free information and support, and responds to hundreds of thousands of calls and requests each year.

They lead: Public awareness events and activities, including Mental Illness Awareness Week and NAMIWalks, successfully fight stigma and encourage understanding. NAMI works with reporters on a daily basis to make sure our country understands how important mental health is!

Hopefully you all now have a better understanding of NAMI and why it is so important, especially in today's society where suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the USA. PLEASE consider supporting me & my platform initiatives, NAMI Georgia, and mental illness destigmatization by getting YOUR "Be Your Own Beautiful" T-Shirt NOW!

P.S. Every person who supports NAMI and purchases a t-shirt will automatically be entered into a raffle to receive a FREE copy of my new book, The Self-Care Journal!!
